98 Forrester S timing belt replacement

V

My daughter is determined to drive her Forrester cross country this
summer. She got the car 3rd hand and maint. records are unknown.
I'm sure I will need to replace the timing belt, as well as the other
drive belts for ac, alt, ps etc. I need a diagram for the timing
marks on the cams and crank. Also should the water pump be replaced
as well....is it behind the timing belt cover? I've heard that the
cam pulleys may need replacing...how can I tell? Idler/s too? Any
info is greatly appreciated.

Does that old forester leave the impression it can run forever? Is this
1987 with a 3 main bearing boxer?
I would do all of those things and compression check. While underneath it
when running... listen for any metallic tap bang clang noise... ANY noise at
all is not going to make it across the country.
Under 100k would need this check as well.
I don't even want one to drive local and get the chores done! your daughter
is a wild one!

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Its a '98 with 134,000 on
it. 5speed
