Hi -
I took my 2018 Outback 2.5 Limited (88k ) for humming noise at low 20 mph to 65 mph , pitch gets louder with speed.
Shifting problem at low speeds. Low bang when shifting from drive to park or reverse to park. It took the Subaru dealer two confirm CVT issue, almost a week later... still waiting for SOA to approve of $ amount. How long does it take to replace CVT? How long did the dealer have your car?
Thank you,
Steve

Just curious, had you serviced the CVT per the owners manual? CVT are very fussy about oil changes.

Any way, it's a day out and in with a good mechanic. You may get a reman box at these miles. Did you have a special extended warranty?? And, good luck!!

I don't think you have a CVT problem. Your symptoms sound exactly like a bad U joint in the drive shaft from the transmission to the rear differential. Do you have a check engine light? Codes? No codes and no CEL means the CVT is probably good. Your dealer is not doing you any favors, they should know this.
