My 2018 Outback cam carriers were resealed in Dec 2022 at a Subaru dealership. Now, in April 2025, another Subaru dealership tells me both side cam carriers are leaking again.
Is my Outback a lemon? Anyone else have similar experience? Any recommendations, advice?
Thank you.

I have the same (but older) FB25 engine. It is common for that to happen unfortunately, and I have heard of it occurring again over time. I've read that not everyone chooses the reseal procedure, which is another application of the RTV sealant. Some have cleaned where the oil has dripped on the engine routinely, which sometimes prevents any significant trouble. It's troublesome when it drips on (O2?) sensors. If that can be prevented, or cleaned soon after it may not be worth the ~$3k cost of removing the engine for the reseal repair.

Hopefully others here can tell about their experiences. Mine hasn't leaked yet that I know of.
