Let me start by saying this is my 7th roo. most of my experience is with the older EA82 models.
I bought the car knowing it had a JDM swap, but not knowing the issues I'd have. The 2.0 turbo engine has the AVCS or whatever it's called. but my car harness doesn't. will the cams "float"? randomly position themselves? I've noticed different power and fuel economies on different days.
also does the swap require a different ECU for the JDM motor? The previous owner didn't inform me about the sensors so i'm sure he didn't do anyting with the ECU. When looking for parts like exhaust, how do i know what year the 2.0 is? where will i find the engine date stamp?
I set the cruise at 70 and i get a p1312 code going up a steep hill. but set at 60 same hill, no codes. I've replaced the 02 and exhaust fuel sensors. but that didn't fix it.
More questions later. but this will be a great starting help.
