I recently bought a 2016 outback. I so far like the car itself, but I am frustrated with the media. Trying to update the nav system. Bought the map update but it won't copy the file to the microSD card from the car. Also, I now technology updates at the speed of light these days, but is there no way to update the interface? I can't setup starlink to use it.

Why not remove the SD card from the NAV system and update the maps with your computer. I have a 2017 Outback and that's how I do mine. You have to download the Subaru Toolbox Gen 2 I believe. Good luck
