Swapping Engine or Transmission

Looking for information.
So in 2021 subaru gave the option to have a 2.5L engine put in the crosstrek but only in the cvt transmission option and left us manual transmission lovers behind.
my goal is to find a used crosstrek and do a swap BUT I need help and information to see if that's even possible.

What with all the electronics these days make sure you get all of the computers and wiring harnesses involved too.
Just swapping the mechanical parts alone won't get the job done these days. So swap everything including computers, modules etc and the included wiring.

I was a manual transmission fanatic as well. Even had a full size passenger van and 2 minivans with manual transmissions. I've resigned to the fact they're hard to come by, even in used vehicles - and modern automatics sometimes provide better fuel efficiency.

I must say, although I know the CVT is a much more efficient transmission - I was surprised how much I like the cave-man 4EAT in my Forester. It's not so sensitive to downshift like other Subarus I've had years ago.
