Outback software frozen on quick start

I started my 2020 Outback Limited XT to move my car a couple of feet forward. I think I engaged the gear shift while the car was starting up. The entire front display and infotainment system lit up as it normally does during the initial starting process but then all of the display characters stayed lit. My engine did not start. I called the roadside assistance and they confirmed that my car software reported that the engine was running when, in fact, it was not. My car was essentially "frozen", acting as if the engine was running and not actually running.

After 45 minutes of trying to get the car shut down, the system went dark and now my car appears to be working normally.

Has anyone encountered this?
