My local Soobie dealer loves pop-ups that lead nowhere but the dealership homepage.
Recently, they showed what looks an overhead cam V6 engine. Now Subaru going to anything but a boxer engine would be a real sea change.
So, is there a new engine line for Subaru?

Okay, 111 reads, no reactions. I'm guessing the link was, well, something or other.
Hard to imagine Subaru making the leap to a V6 engine, and having it work with extant packaging and drive train layouts.
Other thoughts welcome.

Well, these vehicles could use more power. Passing on two lane highways is an adrenalin boost at times.
The new 'truck like' outback may be able to package a v6 as well as the accent, the large sister suv type subie.
But, there is / was a cult like following for the outback, that has just been killed off with the stupid redesign of the outback. They should have made the accent look like a truck instead....not the outback....

Curious what you drive. I have a few 3rd gen Legacies and tow trailers with them and never have issues passing.

Passing power! That is more important to me than fuel economy. I don't need a head on collision occurring!

I've found the turbo in our Outback Wilderness to actually have some rip. There's a BMW M340 in the garage, the Subie doesn't have THAT kind of rip.
But there's a jerk out there, somewhere, in a pickup, who didn't realize quite how quick turbo Subes can be.
But Subaru, for whatever reasons, does seem wed to boxer engines. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.
