I have motor in my 99' that the wife was driving when it stopped in the middle of the road. She cranked a few times. Well the battery was dead. Ended up the alternator went to heck. I pulled the front of the cover and checked the timing belt. I changed it 2 years ago along with water pump etc. I got a new alternator, charged the battery put everything back together. I started up the car and all you could here is clank clank I shut off the car. I check the belt . And it rotates. I'm hoping the motor didn't get screw when it came to a stop. Anyway I do have a 2.5 out of a 2008 4 door subrau legacy. Are the motors interchangeable between the 2.
