I am in my 3rd Subaru, this one a leased 2024 FW (from new). My lease will be up next February and my intention is to purchase the FW and buy a Gold Warranty Plus. I ran into a problem yesterday while getting my vehicle serviced. I leased the FW from a long time independant dealer who recently retired and sold the dealership to a large conglomerate. I talked with the FM yesterday and he told me there is no way I could purchase the Gold Subaru warranty as when I purchase the vehicle after the end of lease, it will be a used vehicle and the only warranty he could sell me would be "JM&A" or by the real name, Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc. Having read the forums for a long time I realized that this is nothing I would want and that I should push for the Gold Warranty, which he refused to discuss as it was not available. I don't understand as the vehicle was brand new when I leased it. I need some serious help as I'm 87 and my wish is to leave the vehicle covered for my wife and have read that I want nothing but a Subaru Gold Warranty. My last Subaru was an Outback which lost the CVT due to a failure at 108K and the replacement cost would have been $8500. minimum, my reason for wanting the Gold Warranty. So, is the guy blowing smoke at me or can I get a real answer from a FM to help me? I only have 16201 miles on the car and 9 months left on the lease. I have also read that the warranty will start from the day I leased the vehicle, correct?
I'm sure I have seen others in my situation (leased) who have purchased the Subaru Gold Warranty. I would appreciate any helpful advice, even offers from any dealerships. Cash paid for the warranty. Dave

Suggest calling Subaru Customer Support (Corporate) 1-800-782-2783 and check with them and see what your best options are. It may not be the plan you want, but they could present a good alternative to meet your needs.
