1979 Subaru Brat Transmission help needed

Working on a 1979 Subaru Brat. Vehicle has a gear oil leak coming from the shift rod where it goes into the transaxle case. When cleaned very well, there is no seal evident there. It is just the rod going into the aluminum housing. No help from dealer or anyone else I have contacted. Really in need of someone who has dealt with this before, or a parts/service manual breakdown of the transaxle. Any help, thoughts, or ideas are appreciated.

Not sure you understand, there is no visible seal. Need a parts breakdown to see how this goes together and what parts will be needed to get it repaired.

Instead of asking people who probably don't even know what a Brat is, I'm suggesting that you type to, or look at parts diagrams on Brat sites. You will see, or not see, if there are parts that should be there.

We do not know each other. I can't possibly know what you've done or not, so suggesting the regular places is logical, no?

Most folks who post here have done nothing but ask us to search for them...so there's that. It is noted in quite a few forums here. People with one post asking for things they could find themselves using the Googles.

Furthermore, this forum is mostly people who want to connect their apple play or don't like their headlights...not people who know if a seal is missing from a shaft under a nearly 50 year old car. So sorry for trying to help. lol

I might additionally suggest that you remove the chip from your shoulder. We don't work for you....

Don't have a chip. You just assume things and take a snarky attitude. If you have a parts breakdown and how it goes that would be awesome. Ive actually scoured the net and have come up empty. Reading comprehension is vital. What I asked was dont respond if its not helpful. If you have something helpful, fire away. I'd be grateful.
