Can anyone help with information on where I might obtain a repair manual for
a 97 Forester

Subaru has a nice 7 volume set that is good but WAY over priced. You can
however purchase a single volume as I purchased the engine and
driveline/transmission volumes separately at ~ $55 each. I also purchased a
Haynes manual for the Subaru Legacy which is for up to 1999 models. However
the transmissions/driveline suspension and engines are the same or very
similar to my 2000 Forester S. Cost of Haynes manual is ~ $10. I also know
that Subaru has a website where the factory manuals can be down loaded for a
price. I read that it takes a loooog time to download if you have a dialup
like me but, it may be worth checking out if someone on this NG can give you
the web information. Respond back to this thread on what you find out. eddie

They sure break it up into a lot of files. Too bad they don't offer the whole thing in
one zipped archive.

But that would probably cut into sales of the $200 CD.
