Damage too late

I purchased a 2022 legacy in December and it pretty much just sat in the garage, I finally had a chance to wash it and found small damage to the lower driver's door which is bare metal, so there was rust on the spot. I only have 118 miles on it and the dealership says it's a bit late to make this complaint. I know I should have checked for any damage much sooner, but you would think a new car should be close to perfect. I wonder what SOA would say!
