97 LEGACY OUTBACK 2wd gas mileage

If I us the jumper to force the Outback to two wheel drive, will I increase
my gas mileage from about 22mpg?

not a hell of a lot... you're still dragging the weight around, and not
disconnecting anything physically, so will still be using power(not the
right term) to drive all the parts(either off the engine, or of which
ever end you disable).
