2014 Subaru Crosstrek

I keep hearing a clicking noise coming from the front driver side of my 2014 XV Crosstrek. I had a mechanic look at it and he said my cv axle looks fine, but he did not offer any other advice. Yes, I know, he's a crappy mechanic for not even diagnosing it. I will not be using him ever again! Has anyone had a similar issue and what was the problem?

How about some more details? Does this clicking happen all the time? Or just when you are turning the steering wheel? Is it a consistent sound or does it speed up and slow down with speed or engine RPM? How many miles on it?
