2012 Impreza ign key/lock issues

2012 Impreza 2.0...
When I stop the car and want to shut off and pull the key out, sometimes the key will turn only as far as the position before I can withdraw the key. Sometimes when this happens I can restart the engine, shut off and the lock will rotate fully, and sometimes it will not.
I have also tried shifting the transmission from P to D a couple times and the key will rotate fully. Other times it won't.

Talk to your dealer, there may be a manufacturer bulletin about this. I recall something like this in an Impreza sedan, but it may have been a different year.
