If its not that it could be an intake thing, check your air filter and try unplugging your maf sensor. If its unplugged and doesnt change the problem at all it may be the sensor. I had this issue with my 08 impreza when i tried throwing a cheap cold air intake on lol. No codes but it obv wasnt breathing right. And i see the legacies had a torque converter recall so yeah, prob worth checking intohad the battery replaced a month ago and they did not do the idle relearn. I was going to do a idle relearn today and see if that helps
Unplugging it is safe, its just to see if the problem changes while unplugged. Of course plug it back in when youre done testing. Im not sure on the recall, ive just seen several posts about it on this forum before. Id check them out if i were you. Good luck!Wow, thank you my friend. Is unplugging the MAF sensor safe? The torque converter recall, was that for 2011 Subaru legacy?
Check your throttle body and make sure it's not dirty, sometimes carbon builds around the inside of it and blocks it from opening small amounts during idle and low RPM's
Edit - to add I recently learned about this with my 2010 legacy, during idle and low rpm the throttle body opens slightly to allow air into the intake manifold but when it gets blocked with carbon build up over time that carbon blocks the plate inside the throttle body from opening enough to let air through which causes it to run rich during idle, this might not be the case in your instance but it's worth checking, throttle body cleaner and a new gasket was about 30 dollars direct from subaru
