Tow Hitch Receiver

Hello,

If I wanted to add a tow hitch receiver to a Subaru Forester, is it best to visit a Subaru dealer, or can any retail outlet that sells receivers do it? For example, U-Haul advertised being able to do this.

I don't know what you want to tow with it but it only has a 1500 towing capacity.

What year and trim level? The new Widernes is capable of 3000 lbs.
The more hidden hitches including the factory one and the Curt require removal of the rear bumper facia and replacing the bumper with the hitch. Check out youtube and decide if you are comfortable with doing this.
I have a 2024 being delivered next week and will be having a friend who is a bodyman do the install. I did my 2014 Outback myself, but it did not require removing body parts.
