Questioning need for a part

I took my 2019 crosstrek (48,000 mi) in for an oil change and was told I need to replace the front control arm bushings for $500. I was told the car would not pass inspection in July if not replaced. With all my 6 subarus, this is the first I have heard of this. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Dealer scam. Go to an independent shop for a second opinion. Those should not fail at that mileage unless you do rock-crawling daily.

ALSO - do not go to that dealer for the inspection.

This is an independent shop that I have been going to for five years. I was so surprised. I will find another shop. Thank you.
