Hello All,
What is the biggest trailer that can be towed with a Forester? I have a 2014 Forester and see online that it can tow 1500 pounds so is the max weight of the trailer to be 1500 or under?

Thanks,

What do you mean by biggest? Dimensions?

looking to eventually buy a trailer to use sleeping with wife and dogs. Didnt understand the options for this.

I'm still not clear, but if the book says 1500#...then it is 1500#. Similar for my Legacies.

Keep in mind the weight of the trailer itself and what the ball capacity is. As long as you stay in specs and what you’re comfortable with. Then, send it.

All of them are 1500 lbs.

Keep in mind most trailer campers are 95% air.

A typical small camper can weight between 500lb (teardrop) to 4000lb (4 person hardbody)

We have a popup that sleeps 2 which weighs 1000lb.

Keep in mind that if you stow anything in the trailer it increases the weight. So a 1500lb trailer with an LPG tank that weighs 50lb is now a 1550 lb trailer, etc.

I wanted to get a larger camper but the stowage was an issue, I wanted to add solar and a battery array and if I got a 1500lb camper, then that is not possible.
