17 forester roof rack

hi, I installed these cross bars and I think I followed instructions but I’ve seen them installed both with diagonal/slop/angle toward the front and towards the back. Give me peace of mind that i am or am not an idiot for installing these

Not having them on my Forester but if they mount both ways without issue. I would have the slope/angle go towards the back of the Forester to look the best. Just my two cents though. They look good in your photos though, did you pick them up from the dealer or aftermarket?
