Reattach the glove box damper, not to the glove box but to whatever else the damper is supposed to be attached to

After replacing the cabin air filter, the glove box damper came off whatever it is attached to under the plastic housing. How do you reattach the damper to whatever it is supposed to be attached to under the plastic housing, besides also being reattached to the glove box?
