Have a loaner, a 2024 legacy xt, who's cvt is great compared to my 2020 outback xt which shifts like it has a rubber band. Is there a difference? Also, my 2020 outback xt's suspension sucks compared to my prior 2004 forester xt which I recently sold. Any feedback appreciated.

Common complaint. Your local dealership should be able to reprogram the CVT to feel like a stepped gearbox, which most of us prefer. Sorry, can't help you with the suspension questions...

I have a 2018 Outback. They extended the CVT warranty on that. I am low mileage so I am checking on my 60K maintenance. 3 dealers each have different packages. Only one of them offer some CVT thing for $350. If they extended the warranty would I need that? Dealers have 3 levels of 60K packages. A premium includes oil and gas treatment. I am not sure but it sounds like they dump a can of STP in the fluids.

Follow your owners manual. Dealerships are called Stealerships for a good reason....they will try to sell you lots of preventative maintenance that is not required. Follow the manual!
