Whistling Noise '06 OBW

I have had an occasional whisting noise that I can hear on the
driver's side when I am driving. The pitch of the noise is directly
proportional with the speed of the vehicle. It stops when I am idling
and gradually increases (gets higher) as I accelerate. I can only
hear it with the window down, and it does not appear to be associated
with the engine (when I rev it in neutral, I can't hear it). I
believe it might have something to do with either the wheels or the
axels since I can only hear it when the car is physically moving
(usually at low speeds) 5-25 mph. Any thoughts?

I have the same thing here on my 2000 OBW. It's the wind flowing over
your roof rack.

I would agree with you if the whistling sound had a more random
quality to it. (Like the whistling noise varying with the wind. ) The
pitch of the whistling noise is extremely consistent once it starts.
I can also hear it when I am surrounded by bulidings, walls which also
eliminates most wind at that speed. I think I will just have to take
it in to the dealer and see if they can figure it out. Thanks for the
advice everyone!
