I have a 2016 Legacy Limited and I’ve noticed when coming to a stop(~5-10mph), I can hear a whirring/winding down sound coming from what it sounds like under the hood. When I let go of the brakes, the noise stops. When I brake, it makes the noise again. Someone told me it’s due to the AWD, but I’ve heard other Subarus that don’t do this. I haven’t gone to the dealership since it doesn’t seem to be affecting the car, but the noise doesn’t sound normal. I wanted to post on a forum to get opinions before spending money to find out it may be normal. This is my first Subaru as well.
