I am looking for a set of wheel rims for snow tires on my 2020 Forester. It appears to me that the more solid center of common steel rims will protect the brakes better from snow. Did Subaru select its OEM rims with an eye to clearing brakes of snow or was it mostly cosmetic? Finally, the rims I found have an ET of +40 versus the +48 of OEM rims. Will this difference have a negative effect on steering?
