What happened if you caused an accident while driving with a suspended CA license?

A

amanda992004

I found out that the other driver who hit my car (and got ticket) was
driving with suspended license. That explained why he was acting so
nervous and begging me not to call the highwy patrol.

He was driving on the bicycle lane when he hit my car that was turning
onto the parking lot entrance.

He has been lying and probably won't stop doing that even when the
police report comes out.

For my knowledge, I am curious to learn what kind of trouble he is in
now for driving w/ a suspended license. I can't believe he wasn't
careful not to break any law while driving with a suspended license. It
seemed that he took his mother's car w/o their knowledge as I can't
think of any parent in their right mind who would let their child drive
with a suspended license.

By the way, what does it take to get a driver's license suspended in
CA?

Please, please, please let's not start this again. This
is a *subaru* newsgroup, not a legal advise forum. We
are *not* qualified to advise you on this matter and you'd
be better off if you did not seek advise here.

A judge's order will do it every time...

But as others have said, you REALLY need to be asking these questions of
your attorney. Anything we say here is speculation, costs you nothing,
and is worth everything you paid for it!

Good luck with your case!

Oh ...
I don't know what that clean, innocent, and naive looking 22 year old
could have possibly done to get his license suspended. May be he's
always rushing and not paying attention when he's behind the wheel. May
be he has some mental health issues. We have a family friend whose
daughter has some sort of condition that when she doesn't take the
medicine, she goes nuts going around town with bus. I don't know
whether she knows how to do drive or not.

We have another family friend whose brother is a schizophrenic. He
drove while his license was suspended and got cought. That was about 2
years ago. Last I heard was that that Romanian immigrant boy told a
police officer that he's a terrorist. (He refuses to take medicine;
otherwsie, he is a very nice guy.) The police are keeping him off the
street by putting him in prison.
But as others have said, you REALLY need to be asking these questions of

He is out of town. He doesn't even know that the other driver was
driving with a suspended license. I went and picked up the front page
of report today and found out. I feel sorry for him and now understand
why the family was making him lie but I don't believe that teaching him
that is good for that kid. He probably stole his Mom's car and drove.

And I was just curious for knowledge's sake how someone's license gets
suspended. Not intending to talk about the case. Ever since I got the
lawyer, I didn't bother worrying about the case anymore.

Thanks. I am in good hand and I don't worry about it. As soon as I get
my car back from autobody, I'll work on purchasing a Subaru Legacy
because it's AWD which would help me with my motion sickness and a
white one at that in order to keep the car cooler in summer since heat
trigger my sinus headache. It's more costly than camry but I decided on
legacy because of my so called non-allergic Rhinitis (nasal condition).

Indeed. And pray tell, how did *you* come to
this knowledge?

Probably not.

Google CVC 14601. and 14601.1, 14601.2, etc
IIRC.

Depends on how many times he's been suspended or
revoked, OR suspended AND revoked.

See previous Google reference. Take your time.

Forget about pursuing such dirtbags. Important thing is getting car fixed
with minimum trouble and expense.
With murderers loose and easy to give out traffic tickets, police and courts
do not vigorously go after these people.

Actually, it's in the US of A...a largish-state,
occupying most of our Pacific coastline. If it
was country, it'd have the fifth largest GNP in
the world. Not to say it doesn't have *more*
than it's share of loonies, nut cases and...
high-maintenance drama queens.

This woman is truly a SHIT-MAGNET and a DRAMA-QUEEN.

I feel sorry for your boyfriend......putting up with you has got to be a
real pain in the ass.
Buy whatever car gets you the most attention.

No intention to pursue; was just wondering because he looked like such
a nice kid.

Car's ready; Will pick it up tomorrow.

I feel lucky that when he hit me, the contact was not where I would
have gotten injured badly. I'd rather die than live as a handicapped.

there was some trolling going on.

First of all, as a US native, I was taught
in grade school that to refer to myself as
an American was ethnocentric, as all people
from North or South America should be entitled
to use the name.

Secondly, I'd like to note that the lady that
started the whole mess by posting her address
as CA is an immigrant.

Not that there's anything wrong with being an
immigrant, just that she might not be familiar
with the proper international country abreviations.
I still have to stop and think when I put a
CA for California on my mail return address....

You sad little woman.

I didn't mean as any level of handicapped but as a handcicapped who
would have to depend on others to be fed, etc.

I don't want to tell unrelated story in car ng, but this should make
one understands my fear.

My aunt, my mother's oldest sister, was paralyzed from head to toe on
half of her body. She couldn't even cry. Her rich father (my
grandfather) was murdered during WWII and so as the other sisters got
married, she was left with the one and ONLY brother and the widowed
mother, whom as she got older, became more and more dependent on her
son.

My maternal grandfather had VERBALLY mentioned to give this house to
his health-compromised oldest daughter.
Traditionally, the son inherits the parent's house and brings the
wife home, and so when my rich uncle got married at 39 or 40 to this 22
or 23 yar old very beautiful girl, her younger mean sister and widowed
mother also came along to live in that 2 story house with an attic. As
my aunt's health deteriorated, she was put in the attic so that the
guests wouldn't see her.

I never met my aunt as I was born when my parents were old and she had
already passed away. I can't imagine how her life must have been.

I definitely don't want to live as a paralyzed. I also believe in the
right to die.
