Hi There.
New to the group and Subarus. I just came into possesion of a 1998 Subaru Legacy Brighton with the 2.2L engine with 4 Auto, I have done a lot of work but when I replaced the leaky o-rings on the front drive shafts, I put the preload adjusters back to my marks and I don't think that the preload is correct by the growling sound at 60mph, I can source another transmission for less than having this one with 233K miles rebuilt. My question is what years should I be looking at, are the outback transmissions the same as a standard Legacys.
Thanks for any info that you can provide.
