Transmission noise

Is it common to hear an older Ford power steering whining noise on a 2021 crosstreck.
2 litre when taking off from a stop? It's extremely noticable all the time. I'd like to have a proper idea of what I'm dealing with before taking to my dealership. I'm still under Subaru warranty.

If the car is still under warranty, take it to your dealer. Impossible to diagnose where the noise is emanating from based on a forum post. We own a 2024 Forester and I will change transmission fluid every 30,000-40.000 miles.

Thanks for the post. I've just had it taken in for a B service at the dealership I purchased from. Inquired about the sound and took the service manager on a road test. The result was yes there's an unusual sound and Subaru head office wants a further tech diagnostic done on this situation. I'll be taking the crosstreck back on Monday days end and it'll sit overnight so a ground up inspection (internal) first as to fluid level/condition potential. Will proceed with further tech. diagnosis to source issue!
