TPMS replacement?

I have a 2018 outback with about 78,000 miles on it and the last time I had my tires rotated the tire pressure sensors stopped working. I took it to the dealership for another issue and while there they quoted me some crazy price to have them replaced. I think it was like 750 bucks or more, but I don’t recall exactly. Is that reasonable? If not, what is a good price to have all four sensors replaced, and is it better to have it done by the dealer or is it OK to go to another shop? Thanks in advance.

Check with Costco. I saw something about TPMS sensors when I had my tires rotated recently but didn't read it all the way through. Maybe they can do the replacement? Hope this helps.

Costco is definitely the best option for replacing the tire pressure sensors. Parts and labor will cost about $60 per tire, a fraction of a dealers price.

Once you have one sensor replaced another may fail because the new sensor's battery can affect the batteries in the other sensors. If that happens just have Costco replace the new defective one.
