Tom Tom is junk

I just finished driving from the left coast to the right coast, California to Florida. I used the Tom Tom GPS system that was installed in the car.
I'm hear to tell you that Tom Tom compared to other GPS systems is pure junk.
It even tried to put me on a dirt road in Alabama but I didn't let it. I had it backed up with Google maps on my cellphone which is way way better.
If I could find a way I'd use my cellphone rather than the garbage that is Tom Tom.

In fact, considering the bogus GPS and the bug ridden Starlink, ever who manages telematics for Subaru America needs to have his backside fired and booted through the goal posts of life.

I coudl have told you that. Also a big Garmin hater. Try the free Osmand, which uses GPS.

I usually had pretty good luck with Garmin stuff. However, they did start downhill after they sold the company to some Indian outfit.

I agree. There are really some super dumb design features like trying to find a restuarant. You've got to go thru so many steps to just find what restuarants are at the next exit that it is almost uselesss.

I've found Google Maps to be far better -- live updates based on traffic conditions and re-routing to avoid accidents and major traffic disruptions. I'm sure Apple has comparable service. Use with Android Auto or Apple's equivalent much better than built-in navigation.

ever since google maps became the standard the old gps companies like garmin or tomtom are straight trash... hell even apple maps is better. google maps > apple maps > waze > the rest.
