Have a 2016 Legacy with 40k miles. Developed a thump thump thump sound noticeable at low speed. Had all four tires changed thinking it was a bad tire. No change. Took it to the dealer and they said they couldn’t find any problems with the suspension but got me for a brake fluid change. Car drives fine on the highway. Really don’t trust the dealer. Anybody have a similar problem? Think a warped brake rotor could make that sound? Is the CVT going? Any suggestions will help.

I am going through that now...seems to be just on the drivers front side. I thought it was new pavement on the roads but seems to do it wherever. taking it in to a repair shop on friday...let's see what they say. 2020 Forester

Maybe you’ll get a real mechanic, All I got was a brake fluid change which didn’t help. New tires didn’t help either. .Just want to make sure it’s not a safety issue.

If you paid for things they diagnosed and didn't fix your problem, I'd ask for your money back. Most mechanics are bad mechanics with boat payments, in my experience. It is much worse for motorcycles. :)

If your noise in time with a tire rotation? Is it the same in different gears and neutral (rolling)? Is it the same with brakes on/off?

Never tried it in neutral with the tires rolling. Thanks for suggesting that. Going to give it a try.

If possible, you want to isolate the systems to diagnose. Posting a video with audio wouldn't hurt us helping you.
