I just had a Solterra for 2 years, and despite its faults, i just loved the car! it was a little big for me, so that is why im getting the uncharted. i love the ev "green"ness.

Only trouble I’m having so far is setting up a digital key that I shared with my husband.

Dealer told us only one account per vehicle so we would need to share the account in order to each have a digital key. But it takes so long for the vehicle to recognize the digital key (even when the phone is out) it is not that useful anyway.

Just a quick introduction. I’m based in Sydney, Australia, and picked up my Uncharted on 29 June. So far I’m absolutely loving the EV journey. It’s a fantastic car around the city.


Tomorrow it’s booked in for its 1,000 km health check/service. We don’t have the Subaru Connected app here in Australia, so I haven’t experienced any of the 12V battery issues that some owners have reported.


The car is mostly used by my wife for her daily commute, but I did manage a return trip of around 1,000 km to the NSW Mid North Coast to visit my elderly mum. The regional drive wasn’t quite as enjoyable as city driving, mainly because highway speeds reduced the practical range to around 350–375 km between charges.


The only real frustration so far has been the driver’s seat memory, but I think I’ve finally got that sorted!

got our subaru uncharted in may. 12v battery completely dead 3 months later with 991 miles . turns out the car only charges the 12v while driving but when parked it is constantly pulling on the 12v. test show no parasitic drain

don’t drive enough to keep it charged and the car does not monitor the 12v health and recharge it from the main battery unlike some other manufacturers do.

Advice given- lock the car while parked in the garage as this will reduce (eliminate?) the constant drain. another suggestion put in a bigger 12 v battery

BTW The dealer where i took it service person said this was the second uncharted with this issue- that person trade for a crosstrek hybrid

By now there are many reports from Toyota/Subaru/Lexus EVs with this issue. The drain only starts about 3 hours after car turned off, this needs to be considered when testing. Check other sources of information (like Reddit) to get the details and how to temporarily mitigate until Toyota/Subaru/Lexus fix this.
