Hello all. I’m looking for an 05 to 08 forester (no xt). In my serch i’ve come across some 02/03 impreza wagons. Are these good cars to modify for light offroad duty? Doesn’t seem to be much available for the impreza wagons versus the forester. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I am in arkansas, but willing to travel. Thanks all.

I lifted my 05 impreza and its going well. It depends on what you want it for, theyre not rock crawlers. I used the 3" lift from subieliftoz and i really recommend it. Put 10k kms on it and havent had any problems with cv axles yet or anything yet. The SLO kit is better than throwing forester struts in them bc the camber is already corrected. I tried it both ways and i went through 3 sets of rear tires with the forester strut lift lol

Picking up my 06 impreza outback sport this weekend :) will a 215/75 all terrain work on the stock wheel size? Looking at possible upgrading wheels too

Nice!! 215 should work width wise, but youll need to do some serious cutting to fit 75s. Mine are 225/70/16s, and i had to sledgehammer back the front wheel wells with the 3" lift. i think 215/65/16s will probably fit without a lift and 60s will fit for sure. Anything over 65s will also run into the spring perches on the rear struts and youll need 1.5" spacers to clear them. I would advise getting some wheels with a decent offset so you dont need wheel spacers as bad as me lol. Keep us updated and post pics! 😃

I'm having a hard time finding all terrain tires in anything less than a 70 aspect ratio. What are your favorite sites for parts? I've been to Anderson and rallitek already and not finding a ton of stuff for the 06 impreza. Thank you 😊

For my all terrains i just kept a close eye on fb marketplace and snagged a set of motomaster total terrain at/2s, but i think those are discontinued now. I couldnt find much in those sizes online either. It took me a few months before something came up, but if you havent lifted the car yet you have some time

What about 15" wheels? Doesn't look like there's a whole lot of space between the caliper and rim to go to a 15" Do you know anyone who's done this succesfully?

15" should fit fine, lots of people use them because theres so many more tire options out there. I just already had several sets of 16s so i stuck with them

What’s you thoughts on extended range cv’s?
Most people seem to agree that oem cvs are the best, some people have upgraded to some custom rebuildable ones but i forget the name of them, massively expensive though, and if i remember correctly they had a ton of clearance issues bc they were huge. Any off-brand extended travel ones like trakmotive or whatever are known to be crap lol. I will be replacing mine with oem when they inevitably go. Some people put more flexible boots on from like tacomas or something if they keep splitting them

Hell yes!! That looks sweet!! The outback sports always look incredible with a lift. Some beefy all terrains will fill out those wheel wells nicely. Jealous of the lack of rust haha

What is the solution to get the exhaust off of the carrier bearing after the rallitek subframe install? And while I'm fiddling with the exhaust. What muffler will tuck up closer to the body than the factory one and not sound obnoxious? Auto zone has a small round magnaflow on the shelf approximately 24" long I was considering grabbing.
