Hi all,
I'm working on a simple anti-theft solution for my 2018 Subaru XV (Crosstrek, 2.0i) and I'm planning to interrupt the ground wire of the fuel pump using a hidden switch. The goal is to prevent the pump from running when the switch is open — without affecting the fuel gauge or triggering ECU faults.
I want to cut the black ground wire and route it through a hidden switch, then reconnect it to chassis ground. This way, if the switch is off, the pump won’t run — and the engine won't start — but everything remains stock and easily reversible.
1. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or OEM pinout for that 6-pin fuel pump connector?
2. Is there any point inside the dashboard or cabin where this wiring runs (as an alternative switch location?
3. Can I safely tap the fuel pump wiring specifically the ground wires omewhere along the passenger-side door sill, under the trim or carpet?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
Best regards
