Subaru Legacy 98 airbag warning light

Does anyone know the procedure to reset this light. Mine comes on
sporadically about every 12 months. Sometimes it goes off again
sometimes not. I took it to the agents and they couldn't find a fault
but it was good for 12 months. Now it's one again. It costs me every
time I take it in so I'd like to do it myself.

Did you pull the code? Don't just reset it, find out what it is saying.

(ECU will reset the code with "lack of error over 30 starts" so most lights
will go off after a while.)

I don't think I would screw around with an airbag light... even if it does
work properly on impact, your insurance company might not pay out if they
find out you were driving around with a "known fault" in your saftey system.
