Speed Limiter WRX

Anyone know of a device that will bypass the speed limiter on an automatic
transmission 2002 WRX? 130 mph just isn't fast enough sometimes (on the
track, not on a public road). TIA

Hmm, you may try asking the folks at Cobb Tuning (www.cobbtuning.com).
They have a ECU reflash service they call AccessECU. Folks normally get
their ECU reflashed for higher performance, but the AccessECU has been
engineered so that they can enable/disable very specific things, like
various diagnostic codes (check engine triggers). They are most likely
able to remove the limiter with this reflash (and give you HP to boot :).

The downside is that unless you are in Salt Lake City, UT, you must remove
your ECU, send it to them, and wait for its return. That's a 3 day
turnaround, if you use overnight shipping.

While that makes sense, I have a UTEC installed already and therefore don't
want/need a reflash, just some sort of electronic bypass to make it work.
Thanks for the tip though.
