Has anyone ever loaded a new version of firmware/software for their head units?
I own a 2017 Legacy, and I'm looking to potentially upgrade software versions to 2021, but I'm wondering if it's even possible to get my hands on the software package.
If that's not possible, would I be able to purchase a head unit for a 2021 and install it in a 2017? There are a few things I'd like to have, and being a 2017, I'm surprised I don't actually have them.
Can't use CarPlay, Navigation System, Remote Start, etc. Aside from the bluetooth connection, I actually find that the 2017 greatly lacks newer features that are in all cars nowadays. I know remote start can be tough, but I'd like to at least upgrade the software so I can use CarPlay and have a nav system.
