Snow Build-up in stock alloy rims

We just had our first snow. Naturally I had to "test" the new Forester. All
things pretty good. I had changed out the stock Geolandars for Goodyear
TripleTreads (mostly rain around here (vancouver Island, canada). What I did
notice is when I got back on the highway I fealt alot of vibration. I
thought it was snow pack in the wheel wells but upon inspection found the
inner surface of the alloy rims packed with snow, severely through the
balance out, much worse on the rears. Anyone else with similar experience?

Yes, this is common after driving in heavy snow, slush, mud etc. that
can get stuck to the inside of the wheels. It's a good idea to check the
wheels and knock out any stuff that's accumulated in there before
driving at speed.

I find a good quality metal polish on the wheels makes it easier to
remove the buildup also.
