Small campers for Forester

I am needing advice on finding a camper that I can pull with my 2018 forester? The towing is up to 1500 lbs but I am sure that will pull my gas mileage down and wear on the transmission over time. I am not worried about the tounge weight as I went with a heavier hitch that has a 500lb limit. Please help.
