Hi, I messed up and hit the side of the garage door. Damage on the passenger side. Small dent 😟 and some paint transfer on its crystal white pearl paint. Been looking for a product that is safe for the finish and effective at removing my faux pas. Been looking at Meguiars Quik Scratch Kit (w/ScratchX) and their Ultimate Compound. I’m leaning toward the compound only because it is a more aggressive product, but I am also concerned it may be overkill and end up leaving haze or whatever other surprise when I don’t do my due diligence. Any experiences?

Hey bmart, thanks for looking in. Pics from different angles attached.

Is the white damaged or scraped off, or is it just dented and discolored?

Hi, the black marks seem to be superficial, it’s harder to tell with the white marks. We have a white garage so it may be white paint transfer. I’m at target right now so I can’t really try to get it off to give you more information. I’m thinking about getting Meguiras X and giving it a shot. It’s actually not as bad as I thought it was. I also have a tube of touchup paint if I need it. One thing I did notice is there is a little black chip in the silver trim at the bottom of the door. I might be able to use a tiny bit of rust oleum aluminum paint for that. What do you think about my plan? Thanks so much.

I suppose the scratch (X) remover also removes some shine. Have you ever used the Scratch X?

I have not. It'll all depend on the problem and the state you want to get it back to, from remove the marks to back to new. I've always just removed the marks as I have only old cars...but they look newish.
