Replace drums at the same time as the shoes?

I just dropped off my 95 Legacy to have the rear brake shoes replace - me
supplying the parts. The owner suggested I replace the drums at the same
time saying something like "it might wobble a bit". Never heard this
before - anyone else?

Replacing the drums is something I can easily do when I go to put the snow
tires on if it turns out to be rough.

Hi,
If drum is in good shape,
you can turn the drum and install proper over size shoes.

Why might it wobble a bit? Doesn't make sense.
Drums come off and they're either:
1/ pristine or v lightly scored - nothing to do;
2/ scored but still within specs - machine and fit o/size shoes i
necessary;
3/ badly scored or damaged & will be outside specs if machined - chuc
away and replace.
If you're supplying parts you'll need to know if o/s shoes are require
though, because if so, the std ones will be too small. Cheer

There is no reason or rule that says that you should replace the drums
at the same time. The reason to replace drums & rotors is that they
are out of tolerance (worn out).
