remote FOB

I have a 04 Forester and find the remote lock FOB VERY annoying...It opens
the driver's door just fine but I find that it is fidgity to open the other
doors..I know that you have to hit the blue button twice for all doors but I
end up hitting it ten times for it to work. Is it twice in quick succession
or once, wait and then again?

Does anyone else find their FOB a pain in the butt?

Twice within 2-5 seconds. check your manual. And you likely must be
within line of sight closer than 30 ft. Newer remotes seem to have
limited range. Supposedly to reduce 'code capture' opportunities for
hi-tech thieves.

Mine works, but only at relatively close range compared to most others.
Check the battery, it makes a world of difference.

Both FOBs for my '02 WRX are hanging on a hook in the kitchen. They're
too big for my pants pockets and I found myself accidentally setting off the
"panic" alarm more often than I opened or locked the doors. I put them on the
hook rather than throwing them in the trash can because I *might* want to sell
the car someday. That someday might come if I ever lose my clutch foot or go
blind.

I bought a manual transmission car because I *like* doing things myself.
Relying on a stupid little FOB for opening the doors instead of a perfectly
functional key seemed like a step backwards rather than forward.

No offence intended, but I think FOBs and fags go together. Both are
pains in the butt.
