To the person who posted re sticky clutch problem back in July..... on his
98 outback....
I had the same issue with the clutch on my 01 outback. It is not the clutch
that is at fault it is the slave master cylinder.... Had mine replaced under
warranty ~ works like a charm....
As indicated in the earlier post I was told by my Subaru dealer this was a
known issue and the slave master cylinder and a new spring for the clutch
pedal were modified to fix the problem... There is no general recall that
I'm aware of, although there is no arguement from the dealer either... (it
appears to me to be a case of 'we will fix it if you bring it into us
because it's causing you a problem, but don't tell everyone about it, nudge,
nudge, wink wink.')
