radiator hoses

just discovered this great group. i have a 98 forester. no trouble at all.
how many miles do you safely get on the radiator hoses? my manual doesn't
seem to cover this.

91 Liberty - 1 hose changed about 240,000Km (150K miles). All others were
still original when sold with 332000Km

Legacy 91, 260K. Never changed hoses. But they're due now.
Legacy 95, 190K. Never changed hoses. They're just starting to get
softer to the touch.
