Plug wire resistance

Can anyone tell me the amount of acceptable resistance on a spark plug wire
for a 95 2.2? I can't find the number in the Haynes manual although I
recall 18,000-24000 ohms.
Can someone verify?

That sounds about right, although I can't tell you the exact spec. You
should also check to see if the resistance varies as you wiggle/flex
the wire especially at the ends, and look for any visible cracks or
breaks in the insulation. Run the engine at night, in the dark you
will see any arcing from any spots where the insulation has failed.
If the wires have not been changed in a long time it may be a good
idea to do so, even if they look ok.
