Oil leak 2007 Impreza on passenger side lower ?

2007 Subie Impreza oil leak on passenger near back of engine but from where ?

Happened to me a few years ago. It was just the oil filter that had a couple of deep scratches. Oil started to leak in small quantities, until we replaced the filter. Never knew how the scratches were made though.

Spray/wipe it clean. Run the engine and crawl under there and watch. Should be pretty obvious if you start with it celan.

It was the rear cam seal or plug if you call it that. I managed to get it out and replace it, still wept a little so cleaned it with alcohol and put red rtv sealer around it and no more leak. Drivers side plug looks really old but no leaks so I'm not messing with it. Spark plug change is next. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I absolutely love this little Subie, it left me for a while to go live with our Son and grandson as they were down a car. I recently got her back, in rough shape but she's cleaning up really nice.

Hate to report, but there is still a small leak somewhere above the oil pan it seems like. The gasket isn't weeping but after overnight in the garage there is a small pancake size spot that has me stumped, any ideas, anyone ? Thank you in advance
