Oil Filter Compatibility

Greetings!

New to the forum, and seeking advice regarding Subaru oil filters.

Our 2016 2.0L Crosstrek used a blue #15208AA15A. The 2023 2.5L model has a black #15208AA21A.

Are the parts interchangeable?

Apologies if this is an often posted question.

The Subaru site will tell you. Probably just a replacement # and either is fine.

You can compare filter specs if you can find them for valves, flowback, etc.

JSYK Subaru does not make oil filters so you can likely save money shopping at your local autoparts store or even
buying from one of the many auto parts suppliers online.

I was once big fan of Summit Racing but there are many to choose from now, Rockauto etc, etc.

I don't do my own work anymore, just got too old to be clamoring around under a car but it was an enjoyable passtime.
