No Search Results for "outer CV" [all Forums and sub-folders checked] - Did I Mess Up?

Hi. I am a new member. I am trying to search for posts discussing how to dismantle the outer CV (Rzeppa) joint on my 2014 Legacy 2.5l. My interest includes how to separate the axle from the joint **if that is required before dismantling the joint**. (It seems to me removing the axle **might** help, but I don't know how one does that without damaging the axle's terminal c-clip hidden inside the joint.)

Also, I prefer not to remove the full axle, as getting to the inner CV joint is a real PITA. (My jack lifts my car barely high enough off the garage floor for my head to slide under! [Plus lowering it a bit to the jack stands adds to the height problem.] And I am not interested in spending yet more money just to buy a higher-lift jack.)

Thanks! I thought I didn't know of some peculiar search behavior for this site. I have decided to purchase a cv joint prop shaft puller. That removes the risk of popping out the inner joint if I were to try to knock off the outer joint with a hammer (which is not an easy feat to begin with, given the limited space for hammering).
