I have a Subaru Forrester throwing the following codes:

PO301 - cyl. 1 misfire
PO304 - cyl. 4 misfire
PO117 - coolant temp sensor low input

The car has been skipping/stuttering and the radiator hose blew off its connnection post at one point. Took it to a mechanic who could find nothing wrong (?!). Head/ gasket is not blown/damaged. Now, very hard to start. Coolant light turns from blue to red within 10 miles of travel.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Model year? Engine version? Transmission type?
Find a professional Technician and pressure test the cooling system. A smart technician will use a "pressure transducer" at the radiator cap opening and measure pressure pulses within the cooling system. Pressure spikes will indicate head gasket failure.
A pressure transducer connected at one of the of the cylinders can also measure if the timing belt has "jumped" a tooth.
Coolant level may also be too low and the sensor may not be touching the coolant to register correctly.
Engine controllers do not "throw codes", the engine controller records fault codes.
